About this text transformer

Pasted text often carries formatting baggage you don't want - shouty all-caps from an old spreadsheet, doubled-up spaces from a PDF export, or a wall of blank lines left behind after copying from an email. This tool fixes that in your browser, instantly, without needing to open a full text editor or write a find-and-replace script.

Common uses include normalizing case for names or headings pasted from mismatched sources, cleaning up spacing before pasting text into HTML (where extra whitespace often collapses unpredictably anyway), and stripping line breaks out of addresses or quotes that need to sit on one line.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between "Title Case" and "Uppercase first letter of all words"?

Title Case follows the convention proper titles and headlines use: small connecting words ("a", "the", "of", "and" and similar) stay lowercase unless they open or close the text, while every other word is capitalized. "Uppercase first letter of all words" is the simpler, literal version - it capitalizes every single word with no exceptions, which is sometimes exactly what you want (e.g. for names or acronyms) but isn't correct title case for a heading.

Can I combine "uppercase first letter of all words" and "uppercase first letter of a sentence"?

Yes - check both alongside "lowercase all characters" and they compose correctly: every word gets capitalized, then sentence starts are re-confirmed, without one undoing the other.

What counts as "extra" spaces or lines vs "all"?

"Remove all" strips every space or line break entirely. "Remove extra" collapses runs of multiple spaces or blank lines down to a single one, which is usually what you want when cleaning up text copied from a PDF or another website.

Will this work on large blocks of text?

Yes - paste in as much text as you need. All the transforms run instantly in your browser, so there's no upload size limit or waiting for a server round-trip.

Does this send my text anywhere?

No - every transform happens locally in your browser as you type. Nothing is sent to a server unless you use the "email me the code" option in the footer.
